Garage Heaters for Emergencies

Some people swear that they have a neon sign over their house attracting every animal that is lost, injured, or abandoned in their neighborhood. Some of us that live in a wooded area or off the beaten path sometimes find ourselves in that situation more often. Part of it has to do that with the forests, there are more critters around. Part of it has to do with the lack of neighbors, there are few chances where you can count on “someone else” to act. It just has to be you. Many times it is not practical or safe to bring an injured or lost animal directly into your home. You may have other pets and would want to quarantine the newcomer because of possible illness. Or maybe you are allergic or don’t have the space to hold an animal until you find their owner or other help is found.

It gets pretty cold in some areas of the country in the winter. If it doesn’t in your neck of the woods, then it probably gets rainy. Either way, the garage is an option, crating an animal away from your plant food and tools of course. However, in many of our homes, the garage isn’t insulated enough to keep the heat in, or just lacks a heat source.

There is a website that was pointed out to me that not only carries fireplaces, but carries special gas heaters with a garage or workshop in mind.   For those of you who use your garage for hobbies, or for that emergency rescue, it makes the place much more hospitable.

The website is not 100% user friendly, as you must use search to find the type of heater you are looking for.  A page that you can click on for each type might be a lot convenient.  Nevertheless, there is access to a number of models that may suit your needs.

I am not advocating that anyone obtain a pet and keep them in the garage.   A pet belongs in the home with the family, but for those situations where you might have to come to the rescue for just a little while, a garage heater may be something you want to explore.
