Be “Real” To Others

My husband used to own an a small ad agency quite some time ago. Whenever he would create a flier or brochure, he would turn to me and say, “What do you think? Did I press the ‘real’ button?” To translate, he wondered if what he just created looked like something the chairperson of your church bake sale made on a mimeograph at the last minute, or did it look like something someone would have paid for.

I am always looking for things out there that one can order or make from home, and also let’s you claim to have pressed the ‘real’ button. It may not be something, perhaps, to make you look like you advertise in Time Magazine, but it will definitely cause people to take you seriously, or to at least hang on to what you send them to remember you.

I have found a site, Cards Direct, that has a selection of photo cards. They don’t just offer the types of cards you might expect, such as the postcards you can have made at the pharmacy. They offer high quality fold over cards that you can order in color, black and white, and sepia from a color photo. You can choose a card that merely holds a photo, as a way to send a photo worthy of framing to a new adoptive family or a relative, or printed photo cards. The printed cards can really go a long way to establishing name recognition with people who you are trying to reach with your message. Now THAT’S pressing the “Real” Button!
