These dogs need a THIRD chance
Two whole families of dogs came into Heard County Animal Control this week. One family consists of two lab mixes and what “might” be a Corgi/Bassett mix but who really knows for sure. Their home burned down. They are a little frightened right now because of their ordeal. They were in the midst of the burning house, and the flames, smoke, popping noises, and sirens scared them out of their wits. They are starting to relax and unwind a little bit at the shelter. But still, it is not “home.”
Their owner survived the fire as well, but cannot take them with her. Some people have expressed that being at the shelter may actually be an improvement in the life of the dogs. The owner couldn’t hardly feed herself, much less the dogs. The yellow retriever is a little too skinny. They have been informed that while the dogs are getting square meals and a roof over their head, if no one adopts them, their “second chance at life” they have from being saved from a fire may be in vain.
