10 Souls Still Need Help
When Heard County Animal Control is full, even though I try everyday, Thursdays and Fridays are always a last minute push to try and get enough dogs and cats spoken for. Heard is very good about holding a pet a few extra days for someone to get there if the paperwork is in order. However, sometimes good nature is taken advantage of and a dog remains for days or weeks for transport to be arranged. It just puts other dogs in jeopardy because there is not enough room.
Even though I live a few hundred miles away, I like helping this shelter out for a few reasons. One of them is because the small staff sincerely wants the dogs and cats to find new homes. The second reason is because they are way off the beaten path and very few people locally frequent the shelter for adoptions, but are more than ready to surrender their dogs.
I will be reducing the size of the photos as the day goes on. I just wanted to get the word out as fast as I could today in case someone reading is interested in adopting, or helping out the cause. I am contacting rescues but need all the help I can get.
Here is the list of dogs still at Heard County Animal Control that are desperate for rescue.
We only have until 4:45 PM FRIDAY WHICH IS TOMORROW to get most of these sweethearts spoken for.
If you are interested in adopting any one of them or are a licensed or 501(3)c rescue and can help, please contact:

Sweet and 40 lbs. She has a few wrinkles so the shelter thinks shar pei mix not no one knows for sure. She is incredibly sweet and suspected pregnant. There is someone at the shelter right now looking at this gal. As of Saturday, we do not believe that she was adopted.

How do you about a dog? I would love to adopt the last one…is it M or F?

He is a boy.

Oh, and contact the shelter directly if you are interested. You will need to make sure they know you are interested, and arrange to meet him. There is an adoption fee. If he is not yet neutered, you will need to make arrangements. They offer to schedule a vet appointment, or you need to sign a legally binding spay/neuter contract to neuter at your vet ASAP.
