Family Wishes to Stay Together

It has been an overwhelming week. Everything that could happen is. Due to medical emergencies, spots in rescue that would have saved the most urgent dogs had to be given away for dogs who were less urgent by date, but were in danger of dying by more natural means.
That leaves this pair of sweethearts needing a place to go. The male is at left, and the female is at right. It is highly probably that they are related. Perhaps brother and sister. They came in with a third dog from the same household that was deemed unadoptable. The female dog is very sweet, but was visibly shaken by the loss of their friend. The boy is more outgoing, and he seems to look out for her, or more so, she gains confidence when he seems comfortable with the situation. She is now letting herself be petted, but it took a few days after the trauma of being dumped off at a shelter and losing a friend. Dogs can hear and smell in far greater capacity than we can, and I do believe there is such thing in their case as smelling fear.
These dogs are medium sized. Unfortunately they were labelled Husky/Chow mixes, and I do not believe that is accurate. The two breeds share many similar traits and they would have had full coats and would have had a more compact physique.
Do you have it in your heart to keep these two together? Have you been thinking about adopting a dog but thought to yourself “what’s just one more?” As far as a rescue taking them, this shelter is very rescue friendly. Perhaps they could eventually be adopted out seperately as time went on, but it would be nice for them to stay together.
The search for a home or rescue ends Friday at 5:00 P.M. At that time, their “time will be up.”

Unfortunately euthanization has been moved up to Friday AM, not PM
So, in otherwords, interested parties need to respond by close of business THURSDAY - 5 PM EST. They will check the fax before doing anything in the morning.
