The Clock is Ticking
This isn’t going to be a fancy posting. I would say more of a frantic posting.
Three adopted dogs are leaving tomorrow and six dogs are rescue pending. It was enough to delay euthanization that was supposed to happen this morning, then postpone it until five o’clock. Because a few of us promised we would get the brother/sister pair out by hook or by crook on Saturday (tomorrow) euthanization day was cancelled.
However, because of the number of dogs coming in randomly or from a hoarder case, they could decide to euthanize the rest of the other dogs Saturday or Monday because this small rural shelter is busting at the seams. We need to keep the momentum going of getting dogs spoken for an out so THAT WILL NOT HAPPEN; that there will be no “rolling euthanization day.” We (the folks who volunteer contacting rescues for Heard County Animal Control) need lots of help. I don’t even want to talk about the 50 cats from the same house that weren’t processed yet.
All of these dogs are at Heard County Animal Control in Franklin Georgia. We need adopters, rescues, and sponsors.
One of these dogs is sponsored, the other needs a sponsor. They are labelled chow mixes because of a spot on the tongue, but we think they are lab/shepherd of some sort. Here is the rest of their story:

Read more of their story here:
This dog is labelled Cattle Dog/Lab. I think it is Pointer/Retriever. Either way, he is 40-45 lbs.
This dog has had no interest so far. Adopter or rescue or sponsor needed.
This dog is at the top of the list. He is PLAYFUL and NICE

Mother American Bulldog or mix, was nursing her 5 month old puppy who has rescue. She doesn’t. She is NOT GOOD with livestock at all. We have no idea how she is with cats. She has a sponsor. She needs rescue! (or very bulldog experienced adopter)

This dog is labelled Border Collie because of his black and white color.
I think he is a lab mix. He is 50 lbs. He knows “SIT” and is VERY FRIENDLY.
Available for adoption or rescue. Great potential “FAMILY DOG!!”

Handsome dog - HE HAS BEEN RESCUED
:) THANK YOU

Butch is a Boxer mix. But i think he has pit in him. He is an owner turn in (I believe this owner had too many and was forced to give some up
Dog id 31608

Litter of puppies. Unknown breed - UPDATE! THESE BABIES ARE RESCUED!

UPDATE: Pochie just came in to the shelter and as an owner relinquishement is also in trouble. Do you think she looks familar? She is she the sister of the two dogs I blogged about before. Listed as golden/chow

If you are a licensed of 501(3)c rescue in Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, Alabama, South Carolina or just about anywhere down the eastern seaboard, please contact the shelter immediately if you have a place in your rescue and in your heart for any of these wonderful dogs. The shelter is ONLY open until 1:00 PM tomorrow (saturday).

Rescue these pets -anyone who has a home and would like a pet now is the time to take one of these. They will always be grateful for doing that and their loyalty will beyond what you will ever get from anyone.
Many people think going to pet stores is the answr for their pets but little do they know the shelters have the pets they really should get. They have all been looked at, taken care of, shots and well looked into for behavour. These shelter animals in some cases are only there because they had to be given up for moving reasons, owners being to old and couldn’t look after them, or breakups with no fault of thier own these animals always were home loved.
Got to the shelter and help these animals out and in the long run it will be a gift to yourself you’ll wonder why you didn’t do long ago.
