DIY Computers

Remember the good ol’ days when you could actually repair things around your own house?   Not too long ago, your brother was in the garage fixing his own car and mom or dad was fixing the washing machine.  Now everything has a computer chip in it, making it impossible to work on unless you have diagnostic tools, or was built to last only through the warranty period.

I stumbled across a website that is a little against the grain.   It encourages you  to learn How to Build a Computer no less, and sells whatever you need to build a gaming or business computer.  In the FAQ section, it states that the benefits are saving money, gaining the knowledge of how a computer works, and being able to know for sure your PC is quality inside and out.

For me, the reassurance that I built it is not very comforting.   If you are more of the inquisitive sort, it might be for you.

  1. Very nice information. Thanks for this. By the way, did you create this layout yourself?

  2. That link you posted is nice. Building a computer really is much more simple than people seem to think. Shoot, if I can do it, anyone can! :)
