Update on Sweet Cindy
I talked about Cindy, a real sweet Boxer mix who was at Heard County Animal Control.
She had a sad story. Basically, the shelter was are of who her owners were, but they weren’t acting very quickly on the matter and were not sure if they were going to reclaim her. They sent their teenage child into the shelter today to scope things out to see if it really was their Cindy after getting calls and notices. But she didn’t take Cindy with her. How heartbreaking it is to see a family member…only for them to turn their back. More so, to leave her there when she was past her “time” – they really risked Cindy not making it out.
They finally decided at the end of this past week that they would take Cindy back. I am hoping that for the rest of Cindy’s life, they take things a little more seriously. They must come up with proof of rabies to satisfy the county ordinances, but I hope they give her a life so much more than just fulfilling a “technicality” now that they lost her once.
