Spot The PitBull
I have bookmarked this test and have referred to it for at least a year now, so I thought it was high time to share it.
There are many people who automatically will say that they don’t “like” pitbulls. Everyone is entitled to have their favorite breeds and not prefer others. It is only natural. In my opinion, those of the American Pit Bull Terrier persuasion for the most part are wonderful companions, but I will also admit they are not for every dog owner. No breed is.
What bothers me is that there are people that “don’t like pitbulls” but would never be able to actually identify one. That is how Breed Specific Legislation becomes a witch hunt for any dog between 30 and 55 lbs who is perceived to be a pit bull, regardless if they actually are. Not knowing what a particular type of dog actually looks like? This is not only a problem for a dog whose identiy is mistaken, but also for volunteers who hold a dog’s life in their hands. An inaccurate breed identification could very well doom a shelter dog, as that breed rescue might never have been contacted, nor would someone find them who is searching on Petfinder or Pet Harbor.
Can you Spot the Pitbull?
Take the test HERE and let me know how you did!
I’ll post some results later.

Couldn’t rate the post, or I would have given it a perfect score. I’m a (preferably larger)dog person, and have had friends who have pit bulls. No problem, I thought. Wrong. I finally had to start clicking methodically through the pictures (excepting the obvious ones like the mastiff, white boxer, and jack russells), finally finding the pit bull! In NYC the expletive deleted bureaucrats who run the housing authority (which provides much needed low cost & middle income housing), has seen fit to ban pit bulls as well as any dog over 50 lbs. I’ve met Neo Mastiffs who could live in a studio, and this was the only breed where the handler had to urge the dog to complete the full circle around the ring. My 53 lb not-a-wolfdog never barks, fights, and is responsive enough to walk without a leash. Yet he would be banned. I’m going to find a way to get this test to the members of this board. Breed and size specific bans are akin to promoting racism in humans. Better they try something a bit more difficult but more on target, like banning the expletive deleted who make their dogs vicious to shore up their fragile manhood.

Thats just one of the problems with breed specific legislation no body can even specify the exact breed of their dog anyway cause they are intermixed so much.
