Time Up List for This Week
This week, there is another list of dogs and cats at Heard County Animal Control that is in need of a second chance. New policy: This week, all dogs and cats must be out by 12:00 friday, or have their adoption fee paid, otherwise they will be euthanized.

What is this 100% adorable little kitty doing on death row? Well, just like all the other kittens, someone didn’t care enough to spay or neuter the parents. Please read my prior article KITTEN SEASON to learn more. It will make you think twice before you let your cat run the neighborhood. HOORAY! ADOPTED!
Equally adorable, just with bad photos:
Cute little female kitten. Listed as a calico also - please use her id when inquiring: 54708 SUPER URGENT!!

These are siblings. There are indeed four of them. It is not just that there are two photos of the same kittens. Two are black, two are orange. SUPER URGENT!!

This is a familiar face to my readers. He was held over last week. Someone called interested in adopting a male Pit Bull. Even though he is Boxer and Pit, and therefore not purebred, the man wanted to see them both so he could choose which dog was right for his family. The shelter held them over, but the man never showed up! That means there are no second chances, no holdovers, no extra chances for these two boys. They need a home or rescue NOW, or they will take their last walk on Friday.
The boxer/pit is on the left. His id number is 50808. He is about 2 years old. The pit bull on the right (52508) is about a year, year and a half at most. Both are doing well with other dogs at the shelter, but are getting sad, probably feeling no one will ever come. THE BOXER PIT IS HE WAS RESCUED!!!! The other pit may be a mix also and he just LOVES people. he LOVES kids and needs a family! He is just a sweet, goofy guy that has gotten along well with four legged and two legged creatures alike!! SUPER URGENT!!

We were abandoned! A lady decided to move from Georgia to South Carolina…and left her pets behind! Literally! They were at the house/in the yard left to fend for themselves. The lady was tracked down, but unfortunately, no charges were filed. These two need loving homes or rescue. The dog is a lab mix - in the 45-50 lb size range and a bit stocky. ID 53808. He has black on his tongue, but not all dogs with black tongues are chows. He is incredibly sweet and loving. The brown tabby is such a beautiful boy THEY DO NOT HAVE TO BE ADOPTED TOGETHER SUPER URGENT!!

This sweet doggie is labelled chow mix, but chow rescue says he is a retriever mix instead. He is a sweet and energetic young boy. His family didn’t want to “bother” with him. Taking a dog for a walk, running around with him, etc, was just too much hassle. This smart guy was a little bored and started doing all sorts of hijinks like untying people’s shows, and even one day, running up behind her and pulling down the lady’s elastic waisted spandex pants. When he pulled her pants down, she decided that was the last straw and off to animal control he went. He just wanted attention! He LOVES kids (he doesn’t have to go to a home with kids - he would be equally fine in an adult family who took the time to hike, walk, or play with him). A couple obedience lessons to teach him what he missed out on, and you have got yourself a heckuva wonderful dog! His id number is 54908 SUPER URGENT!!
I am starving! This pretty girl is believed to be a purebred Boxer. She just needs a little help to be as beautiful as she can be again. The poor girl is just skin and bones. She is a nice girl, but needs some love and care to help her get strong again. ID 54808 THIS GIRL IS RESCUED!!!

What is a mother to do?
This gorgeous dog has a beautiful black, shiney coat. She is a lab mix, but we believe that the other half of her is hound due to her slightly longer snout. She is gentle and low key despite her young age. She would really make someone a great companion.
Her two puppies are being weaned, but please don’t just take the puppies and leave mom behind. Large, black, mixed breed dogs and labs don’t do well in the shelters. People just pass them up. Maybe they aren’t as photogenic for the average person taking snap shots. ID numbers 55608-55808 SUPER URGENT!! MOM WAS RESCUED - babies were left behind!
Gorgeous Brindle pit female. Very loving towards people she meets!

This momma is a Boston Terrier - actually she is more like a high mix. She was dumped off in front of someone’s house house with her 8 week old puppy. She is about 20 lbs and getting along well with the other dogs at the shelter. MOM AND BABY BOSTON ARE RESCUED!

AT LEFT:: This little guy is labelled shepherd/border collie but is only 25-20 lbs!
He was picked up by animal control, but when his owners were notified, they relinquished him.
As a stray, he had more time, but as an owner turn in, his time is up friday too. Id 56108He was rescued!
BELOW: Gentle, and calm….pretty surprising traits for a young man like him. One would expect a dog that is BARELY a year old would not be hyper! This dog is ONLY 40-45 lbs. For some reason he was named Husky/Rottie but we think he may be more like hound/retriever or have some setter in him. ADOPT ME PLEASE!!!! ID 52808 SUPER URGENT

Litter of sweet, sweet kittens. Pet ID: 42008-42408 SUPER URGENT!! There are three left. 2 were adopted.

These dogs and cats need to be out of the building by noon Friday, or adoption fee has to be paid!
If you can’t get there until Saturday, western union it in or overnight a money order! Do not do so unless you are serious about taking the dog, of course, but if you are interested, please help!
We also need a foster home for two dogs that a rescue can take but has no foster home for. Please comment if you can. And also, drivers are needed! Out of area adoptions accepted.

How much is the adoption fee? How would I apply to rescue the calico?
Thank you.

Working at a rural vet clinic last week, a council worker brought in a stray lamb to have it checked for any microchips and a general health check. It was only a few days old, and still being held at the shelter incase anyone claimed it last time I checked.
Who would ever think to go to a shelter and adopt a lamb? I’m hoping one of hte staff took her home as a pet lawnmower.

it’s a sad situation, i would like to help all of them, but i don,t understand the people that leave their animals unprotected if they give us all their fidelity and life…its unfair, i would like to know where the shelter is and what can i do to help some of this animals even if i can’t adopt them all,and what can i do to rescue calico too? time is running!!!!!!

Please call the shelter directly. The only thing that will save these animals
1) a rescue that can take the dogs/cats out of the shelter by noon friday
2) an adopter who will start the adoption process by noon friday (either by appearing in person or western unioning or fedexing the funds)
Adoption fees for kittens: $25.00. Spay is $45.00, neuter is $35.00 unless you take them to your local vet and sign a spay and neuter contract to spay them in a certain specified amount of time (its binding) and return proof of spay.
I am trying to gather up some volunteers but I need places for these dogs and cats to go (temporary foster to join a transport, or an adoptive home, resce, etc)
