HoundsGood: Chronicles of a Virtual Volunteer

Several of my readers are involved in search and rescue, or would like to be. Where I live, we are pretty high and dry and storm damage typically does not endanger or trap human life. What I worry about, with the new construction, and also the lone country roads is the little guys.  

I need one of these!  It is an LED headlamp called the Surefire Saint.  I know nature has a cycle, but if I see a little creature trapped, I like to free them so they can go on their way.   The neighborhood is wooded with few homes, and it gets very dark.  Some may think that this would be overkill, and a simple flashlight would be better.  That may be true in some situations, but sometimes you need two hands, and an upraised object like that might be perceived as threatening, maybe not so much to a mouse, but to a scared lost pup.
