Yeah, she is a true sweetheart! She shared a crate with another dog in the car on the way home and they were best friends by the end of the car ride. You couldn't ask for a nicer girl.

Who makes the rules? Unfortunately "we" do. Not you and I, but the royal we. People don't pay attention when laws are pushed through, or come to a vote. Sometimes its by town or city and sometimes its countywide. One isolated incident where one person is injured by a free roaming dog can also get people into a fervor and want to ban breeds.

This county pound is in one of those areas where there is breed specific legislation against Pit Bulls.

Breed Specific Legislation is more common than you think, and needs to be fought, as good dogs like this one suffer, as well as other perfectly nice dogs who are either pit bulls, or do not have a drop of pit in their gene pool but someone just "thinks" they look like one. In some areas, AmStaffs and Rottweilers are on the list of banned breeds, too.

She is freaking ADORABLE!!!! Why in the H*LL can they not adopt a pit out to the local community? Who in the bloody blazes made that rule up?!?! Disgusting. If a family can be shown to be ready (and not adopting the pit for the wrong reasons) why shouldn't they be allowed to adopt?

I'm so glad that Blue got a second chance!!!

castocreations (hzk)'s last blog post..How Much is Enough?
