Not a Pet Friendly Trip? Think like a Turtle!

Blog Pictures | acobox.comThe winds may be howling in some parts of the country which makes it pretty unconsciounable to even think about planning summer travel or a long distance road trip for that matter. You may think twice as at the last minute, a lot of escapes will be booked. Are you considering taking a trip as the snow melts with the whole family? There are many pet friendly hotels out there but sometimes the sightseeing or your relatives don’t make it easy to go back to the hotel every few hours. There are also plenty of friends that say “oh, you can always stay with us when you are in town,” but quickly retract the invitation when they know you are bringing your pets. I say, why not consider RV Rentals?

Your cat can hang out in a comfy chair in the Winnebago* in their driveway while you play cards with your allergic relatives, or you can easily tour the National Park 10 hours straight without having to race back to check on your dog. He/she will be right there with you, getting out for the dog friendly stops, but hanging in the cool air conditioning when you pop in for a bite to eat. Think like a turtle and carry your house with you. I was surprised how economical it is when you stick to eating food prepared inside and stock enough beverages and snacks to avoid the temptation of buying the items at ten times the price at a tourist trap or truck stop. You can even “cook ahead” before you go.

Do you have an RV story that involves your pets? I would love to hear it.

(*=I have to admit that sometimes “Winnebago” has been used as a generic term for motorhome even though it is a specific brand. Rightully so though as they are pretty much the industry standard but I thought I would just clarify that.)
