Rescue Effort #71: Mission Almost Accomplished

I recently wrote about the latest rescue effort by Saving Shelter Pets, Inc. Rescue #71 featured many great dogs and puppies, both from the Puppy Promises program and from a few county pounds. The beautiful hound, at left, Ellie Mae, was one of the lucky dogs. Large hounds don’t often get adopted in rural shelters, as there are so many of them. They just don’t stand out. However, an SSP receiving rescue knew how loyal, loving, and friendly hounds are and said “yes.”

Ellie Mae will be on to her rescue soon, after a quarantine period and receiving all the vet care and belly rubs that she requires.

Summer is a very difficult time to raise funds for rescue efforts, as many people are on vacation. SSP supporters stepped up to the plate and made this latest effort a success. Things came up a little short, but not short enough to prevent the rescue of these dogs. If you have a few extra pennies, why not donate them to help with the medical bills of some deserving dogs, or help towards the next one?
