About

Most everything in my life keeps pointing back to helping animals in some way or another. After being burnt out from another tedious venture that reaped much reward and little benefit (not to mention volunteering for many causes), I decided to heed the call of finally doing something about my wish to work with animals.

I was originally looking for a clever name for a dog sitting business and HoundsGood was born. But then reality hit me. Starting a dog sitting business without reliable transportation was not an easy thing. As I have the virus of putting the cart before the house or the $500 chihuahua stroller before the dog, I had a domain and half of a logo and no business.

As time went on, more and more animals showed up on our doorstep needing help to find their families or barely missed by our car and I “got the hint” loud and clear.    After a series of events that caused me to be more homebound, I became more and more active in helping to rescue dogs that were hundreds of miles away from me, and not just in my own backyard.

Some people may call me a crossposter or a coordinator, or support staff.   I prefer to think of myself as a matchmaker.    No one can help them all, but sometimes it takes one person in between to make a phone call or send an email to put people and animals that need eachother on the right path to finding eachother.  It is they who deserve the credit.

This blog is about my journey.

You’ll read about volunteer opportunities you can jump in on even from home, the stories of different dogs and cats and people who have been helped along the way, and occasional rants about life, technology, and blogging.

Does that HoundsGood to you?
