That is truly beautiful. It’s nice to be reminded in a world where there’s so much cruelty and cold-heartedness that there are wonderful people out there who do love their dogs. Another really good example of that is Barbara Techel, who helped her dog Frankie adapt to life as a disabled dog. She wrote a children’s book about it, Frankie, the Walk ‘N Roll Dog, and it’s truly a wonderful story of love, compassion, and overcoming challenges.

I’m glad I read this because it reminded me that they’d asked me to donate and I want to! I’m going to donate a really pretty paw pendant necklace. I hope they raise lots of money!!!

Oh…maybe a future topic … our United Way campaign started this week and people can direct their donations to any charity they want (as long as they have an EIN number, which SSP does). Maybe people can include SSP in their donation this year.

They have been closed since September 4. There was a news article about this being cancelled here in Muskegon a couple of weeks ago on television. It is unfortunate that they are closed now. They were a great asset to our community. Let’s hope that they emerge from this and someone re-opens the facility!

I just found out that too yesterday. The committee for the event even met with the ranch a few days ago, and the ranch didn’t let on to them that they were closing. That was pretty rotten. The raffle donations will go towards the chef event in a few months.

It’s even more difficult when space is expensive.
Our ‘pet space’ are all in outlying areas. Takes lots of passion to be involved in the maintenance.

Where I live it doesn’t get too cold. You just need something that will protect your toes and cover your ankles. I like to have boots that go at least halfway up my calf, so in combo with my jeans or breeches, they are protected from a odd branch when riding in the field.

I usually opt for a full riding helmut. If you go western rather than english, they do have some that fit under your hat, but of course, you may have to get a bigger hat

It’s closer to the Grand Rapids area. One of the raffle prizes is a western saddle, if I recall. I won’t be anywhere near there, but have some friends. I was tempted to buy a raffle ticket for it.
